Pass the marshmellows please!

Old things are New, New is best

Its Saturday morning, 7:52 am. The dogs have been fed and I made my coffee from my trusty camping coffee pot. Ok so I did it over a propane stove in the RV. So alot of things have changed since the old tent days with Jasper. But the very quiet and still morning, sitting outside having coffee is still the same. The birds, the breeze, the morning sun. All still the wonderful same.
Yes alot of things have changed and for the better I would think. Now I come to the same camp site every time, its always mine, so of course I leave stuff there to make things easier, like a big Trailer, a gas grill, my comfy outdoor chairs, clothes, food, etc. hahahahahaha. Yes it makes things VERY easy now to enjoy the outdoors. And now we have the fabulous Lake Ontario. To walk the beach and collect beach glass, to watch the sunsets and sunrises. Oh and one NEW chore has been added to my
camping experience that I never had to do before. Once a week I have to mow the lawn at my campsite. But it sure looks nice when its done. Oh and maybe I have added some little touches, like the flag, a garden, a fire pit and some very cool wind chimes. And I have the same neighbors all the time. I know them all by name. Its much nicer than strangers every week. We love our new seasonal campsite. So we don't sleep on an air mattress in a tent any more, where you can hear various animals scurrying about next to you with only a thin sheet of canvas between you and in the morning it has deflated and you can barely get yourself out of bed. Ok so I didn't bring my TV and laptop on my tent camp trips. DVDs and podcasts and even my yoga
video podcasts which I will do in a few minutes on this glorious morning. Oh I forgot to mention the shower, and all my hair products and blow dryers and flat irons all stay in one spot now. Don't have to carry the rather large supply of beauty products that transform me into a human being. I look alot lovelier on my camping weekends now. Hahahahahhaahah, not the sweaty no make up the hell with what my hair looks like the camp bathroom is too scuzzy to curl my hair look.
But some things are still the same, the reasons I am here. The sunset last night was so vividly extraordinary! Breath taking. And that happens every night. The sun rise and the quiet morning breeze with my camping coffee pot coffee. The coffee still tastes the same. The fresh air, and most of all. The camp fires are still the same. My favorite. After Dan the owner drops off my wood from the back-hoe bucket, I make my fire in the fire pit. It still smells the same, the marshmallows still burn the same. Ok so the smoke set off the smoke alarm in the RV once! But now I can sit and in the dark I can see other camp fires glowing in the dark around me too. I will always love my camp fires! Well, I gotta go now, its time to do my yoga now! And another cup of coffee! Then to walk the boys on the beach, our beach glass collection is growing rapidly!
